Get organized with Groovy Notes for the PlayBook

by on January 11, 2012

Your BlackBerry PlayBook has the potential to be much more than a personal entertainment device. In fact, I wrote a post last year detailing exactly that.

It can be a great business tool as well as an entertainment device. Just stock it with the right apps and you’re well on your way to having a useful and productive tablet PC. One must-have app is currently in the featured section of App World. It’s called Groovy Notes, and it makes your BlackBerry PlayBook look like a genuine notebook.

The look is actually one of the reasons I love the app. Sure, the binder style is nothing but a visual effect, but it’s pleasing in a familiar way. It lets me know that it’s time for business. And business is good with Groovy Notes. On the right side of the page you’ll see the place where you record your notes. This can be in normal note format, or you can choose to make an audio recording.

One thing I’ve wanted from my BlackBerry smartphone is the ability to integrate my text and audio notes. That’s one of Groovy Notes’s main features. The left side of the page contains other useful information, such as to-dos and calendar events.

In that way, Groovy Notes is like your old fashioned daily planner. It has all of those elements, only it takes advantage of the PlayBook’s digital nature. No more flipping back to the calendar when you need to check something; it’s right on the same page as your notes.

You can get Groovy Notes in App World for $4.99.
