Verizon dropping colorful phones for V-Day

by on February 6, 2008

You know, they used to call Valentine’s Day a Hallmark holiday. Now they might as well start calling it a cellular holiday. Many major carriers and handset makers are coordinating the releases of new phones for the holiday, mostly in red, pink, and purple.

Verizon just announced four models of that type: The Venus by LG in pink, the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 in pink, the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition in red, the Samsung Juke in red, the Samsung Gleam in purple, and the Samsung FlipShot in red.

Verizon has also made a number of Valentine’s Day accessories available. These include pouches and cases from top designers, as well as more basic models.

The phones will run from $79.99 to $299.99, which includes any mail-in rebates. The accessories will run from $14.99 to $49.99.
