Day in Android 3/17/11: G2x, G-Slate, Atrix, Faster than iPhone

That’s the LG Optimus 2X, a dual-core smartphone that has already hit shelves overseas. It appears that it’s coming to the US soon, specifically on T-Mobile. We learned late last night that while the originally rumored March 23 launch date will pass us by without event, the real release date won’t come too long afterward. T-Mobile is expected to announce the device, dubbed the G2x, at CTIA. This announcement will also include the G-Slate, an 8.9-inch tablet. We don’t have much in terms of pricing, but look for the devices to become available on April 20. [
TmoNews] Apple likes to brag. Seriously. They’ll even
make it appear that they have exclusive aspects of the iPhone, when Android really has many of the same features. One thing they can’t brag about is browser speed. A recent study undertaken by Blaze Software claims that the Android browser is 52 percent faster, on average, than the iPhone Safari browser. I wonder if they would have experienced even better results with the Dolphin browser on Android. [
