We kick off today’s proceedings with a little rant. Perhaps you’re familiar with it. I wrote about AT&T’s new data plans the other day, and have since reflected on my views. They’re actually strengthened, and I think they come through better vocally than they do textually. Plus, plenty on the newer devices. So click on over here to hear the BBGeekcast (11 min, 51 sec) And don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast so you won’t miss future episodes!

Highlights include:
First on the agenda: how the AT&T plans might work for you if you’re careful, but how you’ll almost certainly get overcharged if you’re not. It’s going to take extra time to make sure you’re crawling in under the 200MB limit. Is that worth it? Or will you go over your limit enough that you’ll have to spend the extra money on the 2GB plan? Next up, Curve 9300. Great idea for GSM carriers. They haven’t had a 3G Curve yet, and although it doesn’t have substantially better hardware than its predecessor, for 3G it could be worth it. But for CDMA? That’s already on 3G. What real upgrades will this bring? BGR’s source says there will be a 9330 on Verizon. I don’t see why. Finally, a new 9700 raises a few questions about the compatibility of OS 6 with older devices.
