by on April 15, 2011

The PlayBook launches on Tuesday, so of course this is the week that it gets reviewed extensively. The blogs and media outlets did not disappoint. Plus, there were bits floating around regarding the new BlackBerry smartphones set to drop in 2011. So click on over here to hear the BBGeekcast (8 min, 45 sec) And don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast so you won’t miss future episodes!

Highlights include:
BB GeekcastHow did the blogs and media outlets receive the PlayBook? There seemed to be consensus among them, and what I took from them is that perhaps waiting is the best idea here. That’s not going to make for a great launch next week, but the PlayBook is a long-term project. When the 3G and 4G models drop this summer we’ll see a big gain. Promo materials for many of the new BlackBerry smartphones leaked this week, which in one way makes me think they’re close to release. But since the Torch 2 is going to drop probably around August, and it was one of the devices featured, I’m not so sure. The takeaway here is that I can’t wait for BlackBerry World to find out more.
