If you have multiple email addresses on your BlackBerry smartphone, you also have multiple calendars. It’s just the way the software works. While this is in many ways useful — it allows BIS users to have separate work and personal calendars — it can also be a pain. There might be instances where you want to merge all of your calendars into a single uber-calendar. Thankfully, that’s a pretty easy fix. All it takes is a secret password. For starters, you’ll have to ensure that the calendar you want to merge into is set as your default. That is, if you have joeschmo@yourcompany.com and joeschmo@gmail.com and you want to merge your entries from Gmail into yourcompany.com’s calendar, you have to set the yourcompany.com calendar as default. That’s pretty easy, though, and we previously did a quick tip on this: change the default email and calendar on your BlackBerry. To merge the calendars, open the Calendar app, click the menu button, and select Options. You won’t actually select an option here, though. You’ll simply type m-o-v-e on your keyboard. (Storm and Torch 9850/9860 owners will have to press menu and select Show Keyboard first.) You’ll then see a prompt that says “Move all appointments in base system calendar to [default calendar]?” Select Yes and you’re on your way. You can also change individual appointments from one calendar to your default calendar. You’ll go into your calendar and open the specific entry. Once in that screen, hold down the Alt button and type m-o-v-e. You’ll again get your prompt, and you’ll select Yes to move the entry from one calendar to your default calendar.
