Your BlackBerry might be a smartphone, but in some ways it’s dumb. The biggest way, for me: the lack of communication between my BBM contacts and my normal contacts. Sure, I can add a contact’s BBM PIN to his contacts card, but there’s no way for them to automatically link up. Thankfully, there’s a quick and easy way to do this with recent versions of BlackBerry OS and BBM. It should still be automatic, but this is close enough. When you open BBM, scroll to one of your contacts. Press the Menu button and then select Link With BlackBerry Contact. Simple, right? Your contact list will appear, and from there you can select the appropriate contact. You can also create a new contact here. Save it up, and you’re good. I haven’t seen an app that takes care of this automatically, though I’m sure some of the contact-cleaning apps do have this kind of function. Has anyone had success automating the process, or have you just linked your contacts using this, or another, manual method?
