Is your BlackBerry sluggish? That’s a common problem with older BlackBerry models. And by older, I mean ones that weren’t released in the past month. There are just so many ways that your BlackBerry can become clogged. That makes an already slow device even slower. Oftentimes it gets to the point of frustration, where you want to chuck your Berry into the nearest body of water. Thankfully, there are a few things you can do to help get your device back up to speed. One of them is clearing the event log.
One of our previous quick tips covered BlackBerry secret codes. Tucked in at the end of the list is a function that lets you bring up the event log. Your BlackBerry essentially records everything that it does, and that’s what’s contained in the event log. It might seem like useless information to you, but the screen itself can help you speed up your BlackBerry. If you clear it, that is. To bring up your event log, press ALT and then press L-G-L-G. That brings up the log. Then click menu and select Clear Log. You’ll see your screen go from thousands of lines to just a couple. It will fill up again pretty quickly, but it’ll take a while for it to get all the way to where it was before you cleared it. Repeat this every few weeks for optimal BlackBerry speed.
