BlackBerry message screen shortcuts

by on February 2, 2009

In prior quick tips we’ve talked about home screen shortcuts, browser shortcuts, and message composition shortcuts. Today we’ll go into shortcuts you can use on your message screen. This can help you navigate up and down, as well as filter for certain types of messages.

Filters

To display your outgoing messages, press alt + O. To display your phone log, press alt + P. To display just your text messages, press alt + S. To display your incoming mail, press alt + I. You can also press alt + V to display your voice messages, if that works with your service.

Navigation

To go to the last message on your list, press B. To go to the first message on your list, press T. Hitting the Delete key when a message is highlighted will allow you to, obviously, delete that message. One of my favorite functions, not just in the message screen, is hitting the Space Bar to scroll down a page. Hitting Cap + Space Bar brings you a page up.

aaahh, I’ve been doing things the long way all this time (I’ve had my Blackberry Curve for over 12 months).
