Use Dream Sounds to get a better night’s sleep

If you’ve ever had trouble getting to sleep, whether at night or for a nap, you might know that certain sounds can help you relax. Maybe you, like I, have this problem when taking naps. When going to bed at night I’m usually exhausted and don’t have too much trouble. But with naps during the day, my mind goes a mile a minute, and it’s hard to block out all that. Last year I picked up an Android app that helped. It was to my delight, then, that an app in App World does something similar for my BlackBerry. Dream Sounds is a fairly straightforward noise app. It features a variety of soothing sounds that can help you nod off when your brain won’t otherwise shut down. From natural sounds like waterfalls to less common ones such as a city at night, there’s bound to be something among its selection that helps you drift off. The app also fades the sound once you fall asleep — well, after a certain interval — so no sudden sounds awake you. The timer feature acts as your alarm, arousing you when the time comes. I’ve been using it for a few days for those mid-afternoon naps, and the app does come in handy. It doesn’t shut down my brain, but it can slow down its mile-a-minute pace. You can get Dream Sounds at App World for $3.99. Via CrackBerry.
