Take control of your phone calls with Talk To You Later

by on March 28, 2012

If there’s anything worse than attending a meeting at work, it’s receiving a phone call while in that meeting. It can be embarrassing if you left your ringer on. If you were smart and silenced your BlackBerry, it’s still quite a pain. There’s the information of the caller right in front of you, and you can’t even let the person know that you can’t take the call right now. Thankfully, there are a number of applications that can auto respond for you. One of the latest, Talk To You Later, is both cheap and effective. It comes with three features that will let you take more control over the phone feature of your BlackBerry. Respond to incoming calls via text. When you receive a phone call, you’ll see a pop-up menu for Talk To You Later. From here you can choose to respond to a caller with a pre-written text message. That saves you the time and trouble of tapping out a fresh message, which is beneficial when in a meeting. Auto-responder. If you can’t check your phone, you can set a generic auto-response message to callers. This will let them know that you are temporarily unavailable. You can leave instructions, such as sending you an email or text message. I prefer requesting that callers send an email, since it will be right there in my inbox once the meeting is over. Call blocker. Want to prevent someone or someones from calling you? WIth Talk To You Later you can add any number to your block list, and you’ll never hear from them again. You can add numbers to your list right from your address book (though why?) and your call log. Best of all, you can even send an auto-text to callers from your junk list. Talk To You Later also allows you to broadcast your away status on BBM, Twitter, and Facebook. If you use those media as frequent communications tools, it can come in handy. You can get Talk To You Later in App World for just 99 cents.
