Recover deleted items with UnDelete

by on September 13, 2010

Every time I open a post with a story, I wonder how many people have shared the experience. This time I’m sure it’s everyone. At one point or another we have all deleted something that we immediately regret. Maybe it was in a moment of anger. Maybe it was a slip of the finger — or of the mind. Sometimes you’ll get lucky and there will be an apparatus in place whereby you can recover that deleted item. On your BlackBerry, though, there’s not much you can do. That’s why an undelete application is a good idea. It gives you a second chance right when you need it the most. Once you install the UnDelete app, you’ll never have to worry about a mistaken deletion ever again. All you have to do is set the maximum number of items to keep and for how long you’ll keep them. Before you set the numbers to the maximum, remember that all of your deleted items will still take up memory. That’s basically how the application works. Rather than deleting them it flags them for eventual deletion. You have X number of days to go in and recover it before it becomes permanent. You can, of course, choose to permanently delete applications if want to gain memory instantly. UnDelete works with all of the essential applications, including contacts, calendar, tasks, memos, and BBM. It can also recover your emails, though it’s not as straightforward as the other functions. Once you download the free trial you can get the help document that explains the email limitations. If you want some insurance against accidental deletions, you can get UnDelete for $2.99. It does offer a free trial, something I always recommend. It works with all BlackBerry models running OS 4.5 or above.
