Free app GDocs lets you manage Google Docs on your BlackBerry

by on July 25, 2012

The cloud might have many purposes, but document management ranks among the most useful ones. Google got on this trend early, launching Google Docs more than two years ago. It has since become an easy way to manage files between multiple devices, since it’s not stored on any of them.

Mobile integration has been slow, though, and Google’s lack of development on the BlackBerry has made it even slower for us. Thankfully a developer, Parachute Mobile, has taken care of Google Docs management for BlackBerry users.

It’s not hard to sell this app, since it combines three features perfectly. 1) It contains almost all features of Google Docs. You can view, edit, star, share, delete, download, upload, and create new documents. It’s all right there. 2) It has an intuitive UI, which is essential for a document management app. The last thing you want is to be clicking around forever to perform an action on a document. GDocs makes it quite easy, I have to say. 3) It’s free.

Well, that is, there is a free version.

There is also GDocs Pro and GDocs Premium, though there is no indication of what you get from the paid versions. In any case, the three versions combine for 4.5 stars through over 1,000 reviews, so that’s a good sign.

Here are the links. I suggest starting with the free version and seeing if that works for you.

GDocs (free)
GDocs Pro ($4.99)
GDocs Premium ($5.90> Via CrackBerry.
