Forward SMS to your email with SMS Auto Forward or txtForward

by on January 7, 2011

How many cell phones do you own? I’m sure the most common answer is one, but plenty of people these days need more than one. Sometimes that’s because of work, sometimes that’s for personal reasons. For those who use multiple devices, SMS Auto Forward can be of service. It can even be of use to people who own only one phone — their BlackBerry, of course. The idea behind the app is insanely simple. It forwards all SMS to an email address. The first benefit that comes to mind is the office. You can keep your BlackBerry in your bag and still see SMS messages as they pop in. This also comes in handy for those who happen to own two smartphones. I have a BlackBerry and an Android, but the BlackBerry is my main device. This app allows me to see my text messages on my Android as well. The price on the app is right, just 99 cents. You can get it at App World. There is a similar app in our own store, and while it’s a bit more expensive it does provide a ton more functionality. If you want to take control of your SMS from your desktop, txtForward might be the best bet. This forwards not only SMS, but also PIN messages. That’s definitely useful for BlackBerry users. The best feature, though, is the ability to reply right from your email. That’s something you just can’t do with SMS Auto Forward. Again, txtForward is a bit more expensive, since it contains a few more features. You can get txtForward for $9.99.
