Angry Farm, the Angry Birds cline, is now free in App World

by on August 23, 2012

When Angry Birds took off on iOS a few years ago, BlackBerry users were left out of the fun. The developer Rovio, eventually made an Android version, but never catered to the BlackBerry crowd.

Maybe it was the non-touchscreen nature of most BlackBerry devices at the time. Maybe it was the shrinking user base. Maybe it was the difficulty of development for the platform.

Whatever the reason, BlackBerry users had to wait for a clone. Smarter Apps delivered Angry Farm in early 2011, and it’s taken off.

It’s done so well, in fact, that Smarter Apps is now offering it for free to celebrate their approach to 10 million downloads.

There’s not much of a need for heavy description here, since the game is familiar to almost everyone — even those who haven’t played it. You have an arsenal of different farm animals, each of which has different qualities.

You fire those farm animals, via slingshot, into structure that foxes inhabit. The idea: knock out all the foxes. It’s simple, but once you get into it you can’t put it down.

Angry Farm contains 250 levels, all of which are accessible in the now-free version. It used to cost $5, or at least did at first, so this is a nice little discount. You can download it at App World.

Might I suggest that, if you enjoy the game, you leave them a positive review? It’s a nice little gesture that helps them plenty.
