Help support breast cancer research with OtterBox

by on April 30, 2010

If you ned a case for your BlackBerry Curve 8520 or 8530, then maybe you’ll be interested in this new case from OtterBox. It’s not new-new, as in a new design, but rather a pink version of their Commuter Series case. It costs $34.95, but 10 percent of those proceeds go to the Avon Breast Cancer Crusade. This foundation uses funds to promote, per their website, “awareness and education; screening and diagnosis; access to treatment; support services; and scientific research.” You can purchase the OtterBox Strength case at the company’s website. We also have one unit to give away. You know the drill. Leave a comment and we’ll pick a random winner. Because we’re encouraging the purchase of this case, and because we have only one to give away, we’re closing this one at 3 p.m. EDT today (Friday). Edit by Cooper: Let us know why you want one of these cases. Share with us how Cancer has affected your life or why you want to help find the cure.

I lost both of my grandparents (who were like my parents) to cancer. :( Glad to see this fun way to raise money! Kudos

SUCH an awesome cause. If I had a Curve, I’d totally enter. Do they have Storm 2 cases in Pink that I can buy?

@dawn Unfortunately there is just the Curve 8520/30 case available as part of the Breast cancer event but if it goes well I can see them expanding the selection for future initiatives.

My mother had breast cancer and defeated it. She’s such an inspiration and to see how strong she was through that has inspired even more people. I’m totally in support to think pink!

If i win that it would be wonderful, because my wife use a BlackBerry® Curve™ 8520 in white and don’t have a case for it.
When she get’s the Otterbox, i think she was surprised :)

My Grandmother had breast cancer, and I found out a friend of the family has throat cancer. I hope to win one for my wife, but will try to buy one if I don’t :D It’s great to see companies stepping up like this!

I have lost many friends due to breast cancer and my father-in-law just recently from cancer. The college and adjoining university have a Power of Pink day every year to raise money for Breast Cancer Research. We raised over $22,000 in one day. My department won a prize for the most creative display. We did a musuem type display showing the history of breast cancer starting with the Egyptians. A pink case would fit perfectly.

It should have read the college/university where I work.
