Check out these BlackBerry PlayBook accessories

With the release of BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 will come a new life for the BlackBerry tablet. The foundation has always been in place, and OS 2.0 will allow the PlayBook to move towards its potential. There will be plenty of excited current PlayBook owners, even if they’re dusting off their units after a period of inactivity. If you don’t yet have a PlayBook, don’t fret. They’re still pretty discounted. You can, for instance, get a 16GB PlayBook for $224.99 from Amazon. Shop BlackBerry has it even cheaper, at $199. Given the OS 2.0 upgrades, it’s tough to pass this up.

There are probably some accessories you’ll want to pick up to go along with the PlayBook. The one pictured above immediately caught my eye. It’s a PlayBook case, yes, but it also has a Bluetooth keyboard built in. That is, it’s a 2-in-1: a normal case for your PlayBook, plus the keyboard. And it doesn’t make your PlayBook
that much bigger. If you’re looking to use the PlayBook as a professional device — and that’s an entirely plausible scenario — this is a must-have accessory. You can
get the eWonder Bluetooth keyboard and case for $39.99. Another nifty accessory is an HDMI cable. The PlayBook does have an HDMI port, so you can output that to your TV or any other HDMI device. It makes for pretty easy video watching, which comes in handy now that RIM has the BlackBerry Video Store up and running with OS 2.0. Watching from the PlayBook itself isn’t all bad, but watching on your TV is obviously a bit better. The PlayBook uses a micro HDMI port, so you can grab this
MicroHDMI to HDMI male cable for just $3.25. And who can forget the charging accessories? The
BlackBerry Rapid Charging Stand ($39.50) lets you prop up your BlackBerry PlayBook while you charge. That’s great for video watching. There’s also the
BlackBerry Rapid Travel Charger, which uses the three-prong port to deliver an extra fast charge — perfect for when you’re on the road. That’s $34.14.
