This is why we don’t listen to executives
by Joe Pawlikowski on December 23, 2010

That comes from an
HTC site, via
BGR. It runs counter to what
HTC said last week. It appears that no, they won’t be waiting until the second half of 2011 to release an LTE Android. If, as the website says, they’ll be “first to 4G, again,” then they’ll have to put out an LTE handset quite soon. The January 6 date clearly means CES, and since Verizon said that it would
introduce LTE phones at CES, well, it doesn’t take an Android blogger to put two and two together. After HTC said that they’d have LTE smartphones in the second half, I thought Motorola would beat them to the punch. But it now appears the opposite. In
another BGR post we learn that Motorola has “LTE smartphones on the horizon.” That doesn’t sound like a first quarter release. So it does appear that HTC will bring Verizon its first LTE smartphone. Color me excited. (And there I go, listening to an executive again.)
